Accessing your GP-held records via the NHS app or NHS website

At Thorkhill Surgery, we have been tasked with providing you access to your full medical record via the NHS app and NHS website, provided you have a suitable NHS login.

Why Access Your Medical Record?

Your GP medical record encompasses consultation notes, medications prescribed, test results, allergies, vaccines, medical conditions, and documents from local hospitals, clinics, or other agencies. This information aids healthcare professionals in delivering timely and informed care.

Opt-Out Option

While we support providing access to your record, we want to ensure this is done safely and transparently. If you wish to opt out, please speak with us first. We respect your privacy and understand if you prefer to limit access.

Access Levels

We offer different access levels, including medication history, allergies, coded record (listing medical problems and results), and full record (including consultation notes).

Requesting Access

The easiest way to access your medical record is through the NHS app. You can create an NHS login and authenticate yourself. Once authenticated you will require a linkage code from the practice, this can be sent via email or collected from the surgery. Please contact us to obtain the linkage code.

Your GP practice will review your request and may contact you to discuss any concerns. Please be patient as there may be a wait due to the volume of requests. We prioritize your privacy and safety throughout this process.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team.
